Site History

With over 100,000 hits over the years, this site has been in existence - in one form or another - through active and non-active periods of site maintence, for almost six years. Today it is still the longest running and largest Wild Arms fan website on the English side of the internet.

Developing from a small sub-site of a much larger general gaming site, to what it is today; here is the history making of filgaia.com.

Pre-"The Wild Arms HQ"

3rd June 1999

The first Wild Arms items were put on a website that I owned. At this point I was still on my original geocities account. The first items were fan fics I was given permission to use by Chibi-chan. These were her early Wild Arms fan fics.

5th June 1999

"The Fan Fiction Database" as it was then called moved to Simplenet. It would stay there for a year until just after Simplenet was eaten by Yahoo.

19th June 1999

"Second Floor", my first ever Wild Arms-only site was born. "Second Floor" was mainly a information site, all the Wild Arms fan items that I had from other people stayed on "The Fan Fiction Database". It was your basic Wild Arms site - Crappy screenshots, booklet information and a couple of links.

The Wild Arms HQ

26th May 2000

This is the earlest record of "The Wild Arms HQ" I can find, being the date I opened my Wild Arms 2nd Ignition site. Back then I could host movies, etc; All things much missed on the current site.

2nd July 2000

"The Fan Fiction Database" moved with all its sub-sites to http://www.broken-pencil.co.uk. While "The Fan Fiction Database" became "Broken Pencil" and most of the sub-sites died off except for "The Wild Arms HQ" which would spend the next year in obscurity as it was repeatively redesigned and some life was tried to be forced into "Broken Pencil" which never recovered after the move from Simplenet.

10th July 2001

Beginning to give up on "Broken Pencil" after a year of nothingness, the Wild Arms parts of "Broken Pencil" were ripped out and given to "The Wild Arms HQ"; which was then pushed to the front to begin to kill off "Broken Pencil"

20th March 2002

"Broken Pencil" is offically given up on and "The Wild Arms HQ" becomes the main focus of http://www.broken-pencil.co.uk.

19th April 2002

"The Wild Arms HQ" becomes "Wild Arms: Wasteland Planet", bringing a more fan based feel back to the site.

20th May 2002

The site moves hosts, and while http://www.broken-pencil.co.uk still works a new URL is gained: http://www.filgaia.com.

Wild Arms: Wasteland Planet

1st July 2002

Moving period ends and http://www.filgaia.com becomes official. Transition from "The Wild Arms HQ" to "Wild Arms: Wasteland Planet" also ends.

20th January 2006

The site moves hosts again. Elmina officially joins as staff.

14th December 2007

Site finally changes into new layout, and most sections are up again.
